From Antwerp Central Station you can walk to the Diamond Square Mile - the largest diamond center in the world. Here, you'll find the homes of diamond craftsmen, jewelers, and diamond merchants. Traditionally, the district has had a strong Jewish population, including the largest number of Orthodox Jews in Western Europe. In the last 20 years, however, the diamond trade has been increasingly taken over by Indian diamond merchants. If you're not just looking at the shop windows full of beautiful diamonds, you'll see a bustle of different nationalities on the streets, haggling from one transaction to the next.
