St. Charles Borromeo Church is a hidden gem in Antwerp, located on a cozy little square named Hendrik Conscienceplein. At the square, you can find people having lunch or catching up with friends. The Rubens church was built by the Jesuits in Baroque style between 1615 and 1621. The famous Belgian artist Rubens, had an important share in the decoration of the façade and the crowning of the tower. Currently, the main altar still has a functioning mechanism where paintings can be changed. An impressive sight! Photo credits: picture by Ad Meskens from Wikimedia Commons
