Culture-Historical Building
Antwerp Central Station is one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world. The station's grandiose architecture consists of a steel roof and a stone building. In 1975, the station was designated a protected monument and, from 1986, it was thoroughly renovated. After 2000, the station was doubled in size by building more platforms at the underground level. The railway tunnel that has been built allows trains to pass through the station and avoids them having to go in and out again.
