Praça da Batalha ("Battle Square" in English), is named after a battle that is said to have taken place between the Moors and Porto’s population.
The square has an abundance of bars, cafés and restaurants.You will also find here see the beautiful Saint Ildefonso Church, with the ‘azulejo’ illustration in its façade. The São João National Theater and the Batalha Cinema are also to be found on the square.
