The city of Portland yet again breaks records with this wilderness area. Forest Park is the largest nature area in any US city boundary.
The woodland spans 5,200 acres and runs parallel to the Willamette River. The park has 80 miles of trails to explore that can be walked, hiked, or biked.
It’s a popular spot for wildlife fanatics and birdwatchers due to its dense forested ecosystem containing 50 species of birds and mammals.
The Wildwood Trail is particularly popular for joggers and cyclists.
