If you’re looking for a park near Downtown, this is the one. The promenade hugs the west bank of the Willamette River with a mile-long trail that stretches from Marquam Bridge up to Steel Bridge. If you walk the full path, you’ll get a chance to see 5 bridges, some of which are a century old! If you’re visiting on a weekend, be sure to stop off at the famous Portland Saturday Market. This weekend market sells local merchandise, gifts, souvenirs, and tasty food. Guess what else? It’s North America’s largest continuous open-air handicraft market. You’ve done it again Portland!
