Locals might tell you this is the better version of the more touristy Portland Saturday Market by Burnside Bridge.
Wherever you go in Portland, there appears to be a touristy hotspot and then a more intimate locals’ favourite not far down the road. That’s one of the wonders of Portland, locals and tourists both have a preference, and most times, everyone wins.
Open from 9 am to 2 pm every Saturday making this market's presence short but sweet.
Crammed with vendors selling fresh food where sumptuous smells rise from varied breakfast/lunch stands, it’s no wonder the locals love it so much.
There’s a relaxed atmosphere in the market which embraces a weekend vibe with good music playing in the background.
Locals usually come to buy produce and ingredients to cook at home but if you just want to wander around gawping before buying one of the hot ready-made meals, that’s fine too!
