After visiting Fondazione Prada, get the yellow metro line and head to Duomo Square and then to the bohemian heart of Milan - the Brera district.
Situated north of Piazza del Duomo and close to the worldfamous Teatro della Scala, it is one of the historic neighborhoods and a must for fashion lovers. The narrow-cobbled streets and the tranquil old-school charm and atmosphere make Brera ideal for a pleasant stroll through the picturesque alleys, escaping the frenetic life of the big metropolis.
The area is loaded with copious stylish drink and eat options to choose from, so you can have lunch based on your demands and budget. Just be aware of the so-called tourist traps as they are also not missing in the area. And through the authentic and romantic winding maze of streets and alleys, there are countless small ateliers, shops, and artisan spaces that will make you get into the very essence of the district.
Brera is a synonym to art but also an institution on the Milan vintage scene. There are numerous unique apparel retro shops where it is possible to find rare designer pieces and accessories dating back to the 1920s.
If you want to make a diverse experience from the usual shopping, then immerse yourself in the fascinating perfume universe. Bring home something fashionable and highly personalized and create your unique fragrance in a perfume boutique.
Besides fashion, the district captivates visitors with its long history and art. And when we talk about Brera, it is impossible not to mention the Brera Art Gallery in the beating heart of the neighborhood. It houses numerous artworks of Italian and international painters and has one of the most valuable collections in Italy. But also, the tiny and scenic Botanic Garden and the spectacular ancient red-brick Santa Maria del Carmine Church, situated at the square with the same name.
