Ok, we know we said the watchword is "fashion", but speaking of Milan, it is not possible not to visit its most emblematic landmark - Duomo di Milano, the fourth largest cathedral in the world. The Duomo is the very heart and the essence of the city and is easy to reach with many public transportations. If you use the underground to move around Milan, you can get the yellow and red metro lines and hop off at Duomo Station. But there are also a few trams that will bring you directly to the city center. Milan has a very well connected public transportation system and is easy to get around. Once you reach the main square the, Gothic-style cathedral will take your breath away. Constructed for over six centuries, Duomo Cathedral pierces the sky with its 135 spires and enhances the surroundings with its majestic and imponent presence. If you want, get inside and admire its beautiful and spacious interior, where the stained-glass windows and dark marble blocks and columns make a unique ambiance. For those that want to experience the spectacular view over the city, and in clear days, also the Alps, you can climb to the Duomo Rooftop terraces. If you feel comfortable, you can choose the spiral staircase with approximately 1000 steps, or if you prefer, you can get the elevator. Be aware that not all the surface is flat and there are some stairs to climb so wear appropriate footwear. Also, the terraces are open from June to September, so before planning a visit, please check the official website of Duomo di Milano. Photos: Design Your Italy
