If you like to be enclosed by nature within the city, consider visiting Ubud Monkey Forest, which is a haven for Balinese long-tailed monkeys. Located right in town, it doubles as a temple complex and provides an important spiritual and cultural site with over 700 monkey residents. You can glance at the monkeys in their natural habitat while enjoying more than 150 different species of trees.
These 13 acres of tranquil beauty will have you feeling the serene atmosphere from the towering trees to traditional stone-carved statues. However, if looking for a bit more adventure, this area is also filled with temples and shrines built by an ancient philosophy called Tri Hita Karana or "the three causes of well-being."
While there are some rules (no feeding or physical contact with monkeys), it's an excellent way for visitors of all ages to relish this unique environment. The entrance fee is 80,000 IDR per adult and 60,000 IDR per child.
