After visiting the Acropolis in the morning, take the opportunity to learn more about its history at the nearby Acropolis Museum. Inside, you’ll find painted vases, sculptures from the Parthenon’s pediments and friezes, beautiful caryatids, statues and more. As well as these, there are uncovered objects from the Acropolis’s early history, the Archaic period, and even archeological finds from the slopes leading up to the Acropolis, where the remains of homes, religious structures and entertainment venues have been found. It’s a fascinating museum that will give you a wonderful insight into both the story of the Acropolis and Athens itself.
