Water Street may well be one of Vancouver’s most architecturally intriguing streets. One of its highlights is the Gastown Steam Clock. It’s thought to be one of only two clocks of its kind in existence.
Clustered alongside antique lamp posts and cobbled streets, the clock is a monument to the industrial history and steam that is generated from the local power plants.
Every 15 minutes, the clock ejects steam from its whistles. And on the hour, the clock toots from one of its five whistles.
