Along the southern edge of the Czech Republic is a castle city with one of the country’s finest UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With its picture-book castle above the meandering Vltava river and its compact Old Town, Český Krumlov is considered to be one of the gems of Europe. What makes this Bohemian town so remarkable, is how well preserved the features are, providing a real insight into what a medieval European town would have looked like half a millennium ago.
The best way to get there is by bus. There is one bus a day, the 853, that leaves from Prague Anděl and takes 2 hours 45 minutes.
