Before you can take a load off from your flight and before checking in to your AirBnB, head to the Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria that’s located in the heart of Anchorage. The pub has a psychedelic and colorful theme but they’re mostly known for their artisan pizza and house-brewed beer. Alaska is known for being chilly and mountainous-- you’re going to need some carb-loading before the adventures set out before you for the next several days. Whether you are a beer fan or not, keep on the lookout for an Anchorage-famous beer called “A Deal with the Devil”: a 17.3% ABV barleywine from Anchorage Brewing that can be seasonally found bottled at this pub. If you don’t have luck finding that beer at Moose’s Tooth, it’s worth the short 5-mile drive south to Anchorage Brewing to experience it straight from the source.
