An integral part of the experience of travel is food. Those travelling to Denmark are in luck - the country is well known for its gastronomic prowess as proven by the large number of Michelin star restaurants across its many cities. For travellers to Aarhus, the permanent street food hub Aarhus Street Food is a must-visit. Around thirty stalls are located in the city's former bus garages. Not only can one find local treats here, but there is food from all over the world. Find everything from traditional Danish smørrebrød (open-sandwiches) and Kartoffel salat (potato salad) to Mexican tacos, Vietnamese pho, Indian and nepalese curries and even Israeli fare (amongst others)! Don't forget - this place is great for some local øl too. Some recommended food stalls are Deterbaremad, Duck It, Stegen & Dellen, Bánh Mì Bandits and Za'atar.
It's a great place to wind down and bond with friends. Especially if you're trying to escape the never-ending Danish rain.
