Mapping the ‘Buzz’

Presented at the recent national AAG conference, “The Geography of Buzz” uses photographs from Getty Images to locate where certain activites are occuring within New York and Los Angeles.

“We had social scientists, economists, geographers all talk about it being so important,” Ms. Currid said. “It matters in the fashion industry, it matters in high tech. The places that produce these cultural innovations matter.”

Flickr’s subtractive color maps

Over on the Flickr code blog, there’s a beautiful CMY subtractive color map of San Francisco. It’s a great example of the work they’re doing mapping geotagged photos.
